Summary: Henry Frith, 19, was fighting a fire in Summers County. There were numerous fires burning in the region. He was “crushed to death by a blazing tree which fell on Zion Mountain,” WV. The tree had been burned about the base and toppled upon him under the force of the 35 mph gale-force winds. Henry was from Summers, WV, about 2 air miles away from the fire and tree that fell.
