Summary: North Carolina Division of Forest Resources pilot Charles Cline died on July 11, 1964, the day after his single-engine Snow S2C air tanker crashed near Dover in Craven County while demonstrating fire bombing techniques. The NTSB said that his plane experienced a failure of a bolt in his left landing gear which caused the plane to roll upon landing. Charles died at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston.
