Summary: Kenneth King, a Georgia Forestry Commission fire spotting pilot died on On April 14, 1964. Just after take-off from the La Grange airport for a routine fire patrol mission, he spotted smoke on the ground, flew to investigate, and eyewitnesses said the engine on his single engine Piper PA18 plane sputtered and died.
