Media Articles and Reports

  • Mike Theole, Eugene Register Guard, Sep 2, 1994  has good info about another snag death — Shanon Campbell — as well as hazards, and protections for firefighters doing a dangerous job. Julie’s death earlier in the season is mentioned by Stan Palmer, Safety Statistics Keeper in Boise, on the top middle of page 4a.

“Trees are always the biggest hazard,” says Stan Palmer, who keepers the safety statistics in Boise. “It takes several months for all  the statistics to come in, but so far I know two firefighters killed this year by trees. The other one was an 20 year old girl here in Idaho a few weeks ago.”
