Summary: On July 27, 1994, Paul Hodges suffered a heart attack while assigned to driving a tanker truck (engine) on a the Tyee Fire in the Wenatchee National Forest. He was on standby in a staging area at the time of the incident. Hodges was a contract employee for the USFS and a volunteer with the Chelan County Fire Protection District #9. He died on August 3.
