Summary: On June 16, 1977, Juan G Aldaz, employee at the Bandolier National Monument was fighting the Los Alamos wildfire as it approached a campground. He suffered a heart attack after running to the NPS pumper during evacuation on the blow up of La Mesa Fire backfire operations. He was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead.
