Summary: On September 28, 1999, the Megram fire blew up, potentially endangering all in Box Camp. In the middle of the night an alarm — including lights and sirens — went off in camp, calling on all to evacuate immediately. The situation was chaotic and very stressful. No one knew what direction the fire might come from. Mike died of a heart attack during the evacuation.
