Summary: Firefighter Pollard was driving a rescue vehicle to a wildland fire. While enroute, he collapsed and was treated by first responders and then airlifted to a hospital. Firefighter Pollard died the next day on January 1, 2000. Firefighter Pollard died of a cerebral bleed (stroke/CVA).
